HMG Technologies Selected to Implement Oracle Financials
Old Mutual US Life Group taps HMG to lead Financial
Systems conversion
Ellicott City, MD - October 31, 2002 - HMG Technologies,
a regional technology and management consulting firm,
announced today that it has been chosen to provide project
management and technology assistance to Old Mutual US
Life Group (OMUSL), the US subsidiary of Old Mutual PLC,
in support of the implementation of Oracle 11i Financial
software. This news comes after HMG was chosen to lead
the initial OMUSL financial systems assessment and vendor
selection process earlier in 2002.
OMUSL was born out of a merger between Baltimore-based
Fidelity + Guaranty Life and Americom, based in Kansas
City, KS. Focused on current finance department demands
and planned future growth, HMG evaluated the existing
financial system, managed the vendor bid and proposal
process, and worked closely with the Old Mutual executive
team in the United States, London and South Africa. Oracle
Financials was selected as the best-fit solution and finance
department platform.
Subsequently, OMUSL also tasked HMG with the new system's
implementation. HMG and Oracle-certified partner Core
Services will provide project management, business analysis,
database development and technology assistance to OMUSL,
and work with the Finance team to drive improved processes
and workflow.
Working with OMUSL, HMG is maximizing the extensive
Technology, Finance and Insurance industry knowledge
that have allowed it to enjoy great success in its first
six years.
